2024, 4 channel film, 20 minutesAntecendent Wayfinder
Antecedent Wayfinder explores the act of laying stones as a quiet ritual of marking presence, memory, and passage. This film considers cairns as totemic placeholders whilst also acknowledging the mundanity in small accumulations of stones left behind by countless hands. Each stone becomes a trace of those who have crossed the same path at different moments in time, building into a monument to people history will never remember. These structures, sometimes modest, sometimes giants on the landscape, built and rebuilt, embody a shared yet fragmented history, where wayfinding is both a physical and profoundly human act, to pick up a stone and place it.
